Course Overview
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, the trainee should be able to:
- Explain the purpose and regulatory role of an aircraft Minimum Equipment List
- Distinguish between an MEL, MMEL, and other aircraft configuration or maintenance documents
- Determine whether an inoperative item may be deferred under the applicable MEL
- Interpret MEL conditions, limitations, placarding requirements, and required maintenance or operational procedures
- Recognize the responsibilities of flight crew and maintenance personnel when operating with deferred defects
- Apply appropriate procedures when an inoperative item is not covered by the MEL or when required conditions cannot be met
