Course Overview
This course introduces pilots and flight crew to Crew Resource Management. It reviews communication, assertiveness, situational awareness, decision-making, workload management, leadership, teamwork, error management, and practical CRM behaviours that support safe flight operations.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, the trainee should be able to:
- Explain the purpose of Crew Resource Management in flight operations
- Recognize communication barriers and apply techniques that support clear, effective crew communication
- Apply effective leadership, followership, workload management, and task prioritization
- Recognize threats, errors, and conditions that can reduce crew performance
- Use sound decision-making and problem-solving techniques during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations
- Apply situational awareness, monitoring, and cross-checking techniques to support safe crew performance
